How Low Can You Go and Still Be Unique?

Flycell added a fun new game to its entertainment lineup this week – Bid Hunter. An upside-down auction strategy game from Flycell, Bid Hunter can be played online and from your mobile phone.

In Bid Hunter players are challenged to come up with the lowest unique guess to win big ticket prizes such as plasma TVs and home theater systems. Playing is fun and easy!

Although this type of game is sometimes referred to as a “reverse auction” or a “low-bid auction,” it’s not really an auction at all. The object of the game is just to guess the lowest unique number to win the prize. A guess does not represent any actual dollar value, and the prize is absolutely free for the winner, including the delivery.

You can play Bid Hunter online for free at Flycell.com or you can subscribe to play from your mobile phone. When playing from your mobile, you’ll get real time text alerts, be able to bid on the go, and will know exactly where your bids stand, right up to the end of each game.

For full rules and directions on how to play Bid Hunter, go to www.flycell.com/bid-hunter.

Flycell is awarding 34 prizes this quarter, valued at more than $30,000! There are always at least five live prizes for hunters to bid on, and you can guess up to 30-times a day, so you best get on over to Flycell ASAP to get in on the hunt, and hopefully win yourself some sweet prizes.

Flycell’s New Bid Hunter Game Brings Interactive Upside-Down Auction Fun to Online and Mobile Players

How low can you go and still be unique?  Flycell offers thousands of dollars in prizes for game players with lowest unique bids

Flycell

Flycell, Inc., the popular mobile and online media and entertainment company, today announced Bid Hunter, a new strategy game played both online and via mobile phones where players are challenged to come up with the lowest unique guess to win big ticket prizes. Bid Hunter complements Flycell’s already diverse and growing offering of online and mobile games of every genre, all available at Flycell.com.

In Bid Hunter, players can guess up to 30 times daily online at http://www.flycell.com/bid-hunter or from their mobile phones. The “hunter” with the lowest unique guess is the winner. Hunters receive real time text alerts or emails that help them along, making the game interactive and highly addicting.”Flycell’s customers are sure to get a thrill from winning high-end items like big screen TVs and home theater systems simply by making the lowest unique guess,” says Lindsey Weinger, VP Web Experience at Flycell. “While the person with the fattest wallet will always win in a traditional auction, Bid Hunter turns that idea on its head and adds interactive features like text alerts that make it even more fun and addicting.”

Although this type of game is sometimes referred to as a “reverse auction,” it’s not really an auction at all. The object of the game is to guess the lowest number to win the prize. A guess does not represent any actual dollar value, and the prize is absolutely free for the winner, including the delivery.

Bid Hunter features at least five live prizes every day, from 58” Plasma TVs to Blu Ray Home Theater Systems, with two weekly winners, one bi-monthly winner, one monthly winner, and one grand prize winner each quarter. Flycell will award 34 prizes this quarter, together valued at more than $30,000.

How to play Bid Hunter
Playing Flycell’s Bid Hunter is fun and easy. When playing from the Web simply pick a prize and enter a guess. The winner is the hunter with the lowest unique guess when the game ends. The “lowest” guess is the smallest positive, whole number.  Hunters cannot guess zero, numbers smaller than zero, or fractions. A “unique” guess is a number that no one else has chosen. Hunters can guess up to 30 times each day, and when they submit a bid online they get instant prompts letting them know how they stand up against the competition. Hunters can check their status anytime on the prize page (http://www.flycell.com/bid-hunter) and view their entire guess history on each item. Hunters also receive emails informing them if they have picked the lowest unique number or if they’ve just been bumped by another user.

To play from a mobile phone hunters text HUNT to 69999 for the current prize list, pick a prize from the list and then text the prize’s keyword along with their guess to 69999 (e.g., To: 69999 Message: HDTV 107). When playing from a mobile phone hunters receive text message alerts with real time updates on the status of their guesses. Mobile players can also check the status of their guesses at any time by texting BID INFO to 69999.

Hunters can play Bid Hunter online for free or can subscribe to Bid Hunter Pro for $9.99/month to play from their mobile phone. The Bid Hunter Pro subscription offers mobile Bid Hunter game play, ad-free online Bid Hunter play, hints sent to the mobile phone, and unlimited Bid Hunter text alerts.

Artist Spotlight: Eminem

As infamous as he is famous, Eminem (a.k. Slim Shady, a.k.a Marshall Mathers) is one of the most influential MCs ever.

Em put Detroit Rock City back on the map in 1999 with the release of the triple platinum The Slim Shady LP. Featuring heavy production by Dr. Dre and singles “Guilty Conscience”, “’97 Bonnie and Clyde”, and “My Name Is”, this album introduced the world to Eminem’s lyrical skill and his controversial style.

The Marshall Mathers LP followed in 2000 and broke records set by Snoop Dogg for fastest selling hip hop album and Britney Spears for fastest selling album by a solo artist. Marshall insulted several celebrities, including Christina Aguilera and NSYNC, in “The Real Slim Shady.” Other songs include “The Way I Am” and “Stan”, featuring a Dido sample and often voted as one of the best rap songs ever.

The Eminem Show became Eminem’s third straight album to win the Grammy for best rap album, driven by singles “White America”, “Without Me”, and “Cleanin’ Out My Closet.”
Encore, another platinum album, dropped in 2004 and features “Mockingbird”, “Just Lose It”, and “Mosh.”

In 2009, Eminem ended his 5 year hiatus from rap and hip hop with the release of new songs “Crack a Bottle” (with Dr. Dre and 50 Cent) and “We Made You,” the video which again parodied several celebrities such as Bret Michaels and Amy Winehouse.
Marshall also is an actor, appearing in 8 Mile and lending his voice to 50 Cent’s video game.

So “Crack A Bottle”, or at least download the ringtone.

Artist Spotlight: Black Eyed Peas

Believe it or not, the Black Eyed Peas have been together since 1988 when Will.i.am and apl.de.ap first joined forces in a break dancing crew, where they regularly performed at parties.

In 1995, the name Black Eyed Peas was first used and only a few years later their songs started to appear on movie soundtracks and the debut album Behind the Front was released. Their second album featured the hit “Request Line” with Macy Gray.

Their breakout album, Elephunk, came out in 2003, displaying their unique blend of dance, popR&B, and hip hop. It was the first with front woman Fergie and contained their first mainstream hits. The album has sold almost 8 million copies worldwide, with the songs being featured in several movies, commercials, and the NBA playoffs.

The Peas capitalized on this success with their next album, Monkey Business, which sold 10 million copies around the world and featured tracks with big name artists like Q-TipCee-LoTalib KweliJohn Legendrock star Jack Johnson, rock icon Sting, and soul legend James Brown. BEP also won a Grammy for the song “Don’t Phunk With My Heart.” A tour with the Pussycat Dolls followed. In 2009, the group released their 5th studio album The E.N.D. (The Energy Never Dies).

Will.i.am, having already produced most of the group’s tracks, has moved on to producing works for other artists, including Justin TimberlakeNasKelisNelly Furtado, and Latin stars Sergio Mendes and RBD. Fergie has also had a successful solo career, working with hip hop artists like NellyLudacris, and Souja Boy, and R&B great Lionel Richie.

Flycell Defies Mobile Content Industry Trends and Reports Growth in Back-to-Back Quarters

Q1 2009 Results Best Ever in Company’s Four Year History

Flycell

Flycell, Inc., a leading mobile and online entertainment content company, today announced the company has achieved over 60 percent growth comparing Q1 2009 to Q1 2008 and over 25 percent comparing Q1 2009 to Q4 2008. Even as industry analyst firms have forecasted falling mobile content and entertainment revenues as discretionary spending declines due to the current economy, Flycell reported its two best-ever quarters with Q1 2009 being the most successful in the company’s four year history. Flycell’s parent company, Acotel Group (MIL: ACO), reported Flycell earned approximately $75 million in 2008. For Q1 2009 Acotel reports Flycell took in close to $23 million in revenue as compared to $14 million in Q1 2008. Flycell continues to be a profitable enterprise.

Mobile entertainment industry forecasts cited reduced discretionary spending for services, specifically singling out ringtones, leading to a decline in mobile content and entertainment revenues. However, Flycell founder and CEO, Alberto Montesi, sees a different trend impacting his company.

“Many of the hurdles to mass adoption of mobile content have been significantly reduced,” said Montesi. “Over the last year in particular, people have discovered that they can use their mobile phone for more than just calls and text messages. More capable phones increase people’s desire to personalize their devices with ringtones, games and applications. Despite the faltering economy, the low price point has made mobile entertainment an appealing purchase, as demonstrated by our financial performance.”

Ringtones continue to be the most popular mobile content beyond SMS. With its continued success, Flycell plans to expand into other areas of mobile and digital entertainment later this year.

“One of the keys to our success is our business model,” continued Montesi. “We find that people don’t want to be charged every time they download a ringtone, game or song. Flycell charges a flat subscription fee, covering lots of different types of mobile content that can work on the widest variety of mobile phones. People want this ‘volume without restrictions’ approach.”

“We seem to be recession-proof,” said Montesi. “While many of our competitors are requiring infusions of cash in order to stay in business, Flycell will grow with new services and expand into new countries on our own steam.”
