Tubaloo’s management team leverages decades of experience across the telecommunications, information services and software enabled communications technology industries, to bring its alternative communications services to market.

Michael Tupper, Founder & Chief Executive Officer

Michael Tupper

A 15 year telecommunications veteran, Michael Tupper founded Tubaloo in November 2005 with a vision to integrate the various capabilities native on today’s smartphones – including high speed data networking, GPS and location-based data, along with superior audio and video – to deliver the ultimate communications experience.

Through identifying trends in the high-tech and telecommunications industries, often years before they hit mainstream consciousness, Michael has been able to harness this knowledge to provide the best analysis, counsel, design and implementation to each up-and-coming telecommunication project he’s collaborated on.

Michael’s telecom management experience includes working with carriers around the world, most recently as vice president of carrier sales for Atlas Telecom Network. After Atlas, Mike led business development efforts for Latin American carriers for Terremark Worldwide, the IT infrastructure company that leverages connectivity from more than 160 carriers around the world. Mike left Terremark to co-found the mobile VoIP provider Community, where he served as its COO.

Michael holds a Bachelor of Arts in communications and marketing from The Evergreen State College in Olympia, Wash.

Andrés Sandoval, Co-Founder & Chief Technology Officer

Andrés Sandoval

Andrés Sandoval is no stranger to the world of telecommunications. With more than 15 years of industry experience, Andrés serves as the CTO of Tubaloo, providing a technical voice to strategic and business planning for the free mobile telephony company.

Beginning his career in the telecommunications industry as an engineer for FirstCom Chile which later became AT&T Latin America. Andrés went on to earn his telecom stripes as Director of FirstCom’s VoIP Research Lab where he lead a VoIP development team working extensively on h.323 protocol, Service Development and C7/SS7 Signaling Gateways. Andrés went on to leading large scale VoIP implementations for companies like Concha y Toro, Bio Bio and Almancenes Paris while working for Orange Business Services (formally Equant). Later, Andrés co-founded New Mixed Mind, a telecom consultancy company.

Andrés holds an electrical engineering degree from the University of Santiago, Chile, where he was also a founding member of the University’s Robotics Center.

Rodrigo Valin, Co-Founder & Lead Developer

Rodrigo Valin

Rodrigo Valin is the whiz behind Tubaloo’s application development, paying homage to his extensive experience and knowledge of Google Android, SQL, Python and Java. Rodrigo is responsible for the cutting edge software and innovative underlying architecture that allows Tubaloo to stand apart from others in the telecom industry.

Rodrigo is an active developer in the Asterisk community and a contributor to the Astbill open source project.

Prior to joining Tubaloo, Rodrigo served as Chief Developer at Xurros SA where he developed a Linux based point of sale, inventory and report system for the growing food company.

Rodrigo studied computer science and engineering at Catholic University of Valparaíso in Chile and also holds a technical degree in computer programming from Santa Maria University.
